Emerge Fest 2024, the up-rising international music festival in central Taiwan, Qing Shui
Qing Shui essentially means "clear water"
Nestled in the picturesque town of Qing Shui in Taichung, Taiwan, the landscape unfolds from the Da Du hills in the east to the western coast, complemented by the continuous flow of the Da Jia River to the north. Dating back 4500-3400 years, the Niu Ma Tou archaeological site bears witness to ancient human habitation. " In 1920, a pristine spring at "Bi Zi Kou" prompted the town's renaming to "Qing Shui," reflecting the purity of its waters.
Adding to the cultural richness of Qing Shui is the upcoming Emerge Fest 2024, celebrating its fifth anniversary. Scheduled for February 24-25 at Aofengshan Sports Park in Qingshui, this festival beckons individuals from all over Taiwan to embark on a coastal musical adventure, immersing themselves in the vibrant spirit of Taichung's rock festival.
In commemoration of this milestone, the festival expands its influence by collaborating with major Live Houses in Taichung, extending beyond the main performances in Qing Shui to include the pre-festival on February 23 and "#MAH 20240224" on February 24 at Reecho Arts & Culture and School of Rock, respectively. Additionally, a late-night collaboration with Legacy Taichung, known as the "Midnight City," promises an electrifying experience for fans.
The Qing Shui main venue at Aofengshan Sports Park unveils two new locations for the festival. "Ziyunyan," a coastal sanctuary, will feature Lantern Riddles for the Lantern Festival and showcase performances by idols and bands from Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. These events collectively weave together the ancient charm of Qing Shui with the contemporary vibrancy of Emerge Fest, creating a unique and immersive experience for visitors.
